Who are Blame the Moon?

A second life for songs worth hearing

Richard Hunt started playing guitar and writing songs around 30 years ago. Armed with an average voice, a lovely Sigma guitar and a newly discovered ability to write songs, he took to a series of scary open-mic nights at Talking Heads in Southampton.

Real musicians appeared, liked what they heard, and Skimmer was born. The band played local gigs and a regular monthly spot at the Bent Brief until it closed, before stopping in 2015.

Retirement brought time, and a few songs really did need recording for posterity. Now the old and new songs get another public airing as Blame the Moon.
